Zero Waste Weaving Class with Maggie Pate

We are excited to welcome the talented textile and natural dye artist Maggie Pate back to Philo Ridge Farm this March! In this weaving class, learn the basics of lap loom weaving and begin developing your own piece of wall art - but using repurposed fibers in an effort to combat the massive waste of the textile and fashion industry. Bring fabric or clothes you aren’t using anymore, and learn to transform them into art.

Each student will be provided with a loom and supplies to design and handcraft their own work of art. These tools will be yours to take home so you can continue creating artwork with repurposed clothing and fiber. In addition, you will receive a printed guide to Maggie’s Introduction to Weaving Manual.

The class runs from 10 AM to 2 PM, with a break during which students are welcome to buy lunch, snacks, and drinks from the Market. Tickets are $185 and can be purchased on Maggie’s website. Space is limited, so act fast!
